FAMILIE FRANK – MEDIA TABLE
In the new permanent exhibition of the Jewish Museum Frankfurt, designed and implemented by SPACE4 and teamstratenwerth, Kunzberg is responsible for the media table about the Frank family.
The Frank family archive has moved from Basel to Frankfurt.
The objects, pictures and documents are given their own room in the newly designed museum with a media presentation as a central element. The family, which has lived in Frankfurt for eight generations, is presented as a normal Frankfurt family. Old photos and documents are available for this purpose.
The photos and documents are supplemented by pictures of objects, put together into collages and animated so that little stories from the lives of the families are told in an entertaining and surprising way. The families are portrayed and the stories are assigned to the individual families via a colour code.
A simple, contemporary and intuitive table interface makes the content accessible to all visitors and can be used by 8 visitors at the same time. Small icons from the 24 stories move on the table and invite visitors to drag them to a control panel. The animated story starts in the field. All the objects and props in the story were put together by Kunzberg in the appropriate historical context. The images have been qualitatively processed and sensitively coloured.
For visitors in wheelchairs, the table can be moved underneath on the transverse side – and can thus be operated comfortably.
The staged objects from everyday family life are partly found in the showcases, so that the table establishes the connections.
